What I’ve Been Up To Lately

When I was a child, I wanted to be a musician or an author or a painter. I wanted to live a bohemian lifestyle, where I would roam the art streets of the world and document my travels. I also remember owning a bright yellow typewriter, a gift my mum passed to me from her work place. I would type my stories diligently and have used up reels and reels of typewriter ribbon. Then we entered the age of computers, and the typewriter was neglected and forgotten.

It was around that time that I started getting into drawing and I used to create my own graphic novels (or comics). I didn’t develop full stories, only snippets of interesting segments that came to mind. Mostly romantic and fantasy stuff! I was in my teens after all. I drew manga, Western cartoon or comic styles, and rather abstract objects sometimes.

All that was lost when I started working and in the last 18 years I have not picked up any art supplies until very recently. Now that I can afford more time and expense to explore this re-discovered love, I have been learning, experimenting and trying out different techniques. It’s been really fun!

Anyhoo, that is a rather quick update to let you know what I’ve been up to lately.

Now it’s your turn to tell me what you’ve been doing too. Do let me know in the comments what you’d like to see or read next. I always appreciate feedback and love to hear from you.

Uh oh, smashbooking was something I held off! And the pocket letter stuff too… They are too dangerously cute! I think you can try looking for pocket letter pals and start exchanging. I’m not into snail mail these days because our local postal service has been a tad bit unreliable and I would be too anxious about whether my pal receives my letter.
