We are back with another Friday Feature, where I feature people who inspire me, or products that I find interesting. Today, we have the fabulous Merrit of Label Me Merrit, a planner and blogger I truly admire. Not only does she cover planning topics, but she also provides tips and tricks on organising your home and little crafting projects.
Tell us a bit about yourself, what do you like to do when you’re not organising or housekeeping?
When I’m not playing with my planners, you’ll find me surrounded by pretty papers and embellishments, recording my family’s memories using the Project Life system. I also love relaxing on the couch with my girlfriend at the end of the night, and binge watching any of our favorite shows (we’re currently working through the entire ER series).
What is your favourite organising tool or product?
I’m going to have to be a walking advertisement here and say my favorite organizing tool is anything Martha Stewart makes. I have been a long time fan of her Home Office line, and use many of her discbound planners and A5 binders to help me organize my life. Her tear drop stickers and bookplate labels have also been life changing <3.
Do you use a planner and what is it?
Oh gosh, I am actually currently using 5 planners! They are as follows:
– General Planner: A5 Martha Stewart disc-bound
– Blog Planner: letter sized Martha Stewart disc-bound
– Project Life Planner: letter sized Sugar Paper coil-bound planner
– Etsy Planner: A5 Martha Stewart 3-ring binder
– Financial Planner: A5 Target 3-ring binder
How has a planner helped you stay organised?
I am the type of person who always has a million to dos running through her mind. My planners help me take those things out of my mind, and put them down onto paper. Having my thoughts written out in front of my, instead of floating around in my head, helps simplify and add order to them. This helps me think clearer, and prioritize my tasks to be completed. Having a clear cut direction for my days has been a life saver. My life is a lot let stressful and hectic thanks to my planner system.
What inspired you to start a blog?
I started bloging almost three years ago to share my love of organization with the world, as well as to have a place to share and document transforming my college style apartment into my first real adult home. Since then, Label Me Merrit has grown and expanded to include so much more, including crafting inspiration and tutorials, blogging tips and even relationship advice! I love sharing my life and all the things I love with my readers, it really bring so much joy to my life.
What do you enjoy most about blogging?
I love connecting with other wonderful and like-minded people. The planner community is particularly awe inspiring. There is just so much love and support, it blows me away. If it weren’t for this online community, I never would have known that there are others (many, many others) who share my absolutely crazy love of paper and planners! I have met some amazing women through this blogging journey, and I look forward to meeting many more as my journey continues!
Where would you like to go on a holiday?
Give me a beach, a cocktail and a book and I am a happy girl!
What are your favourite stores (online or brick & mortar) to shop in?
I am almost afraid to answer this one, I could go on for day, but here goes! My favorite stores include Target, Michael’s, Studio L2E, Studio Calico, Staples, Etsy (way to many shop to name individually), Ikea, Home Goods and the Container store. I may be a huge proponent of retail therapy 😉
If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be?
Planner. It may sound cliche, given the topics I write about, but this word applies to so many other areas of my life outside of my planner addiction. I am truly a planner to the core, and live this word in every aspect of my life.
And lastly, please leave a link to your blog/YouTube and social media so we can connect with you:
