I actually uploaded a YouTube video on my latest planner setup and that I’ve gone back to using ring planners, like the Filofax system. Over the last year, I’ve tried so many various planners, from the Midori Traveler’s Notebooks (both in regular and pocket size) to Hobonichi and even Moleskines. And each time I start using them, I would get frustrated after a while due to the lack of flexibility.
I know you can insert different notebooks into the Traveler’s Notebooks system but I kept getting confused where I wrote what and I had a hard time keeping track. With the Moleskine weekly planner, I was able to do some forward planning but the bound notebook format felt a bit constricted to me. I missed the flexibility of taking pages in and out and switching the order and adding sections as I require.
Going back to ring planners felt quite right. I have been switching between a Kate Spade planner and a simple leather planner from Labrador, which is a Thai brand that can be found locally in Malaysia. I have ordered an Ochre Malden because I sold off the Purple one last year. I have always liked the Malden but I’m not the biggest fan of purple so I couldn’t quite “connect” with it. I know that it sounds silly but that’s how I honestly feel.
I will probably do an update (again) after receiving the Malden because I have made slight changes to the planner since my last video.
I hope you enjoy the video and thank you so much for watching.
As always, please feel free to leave any comments, suggestions or questions on my blog or channel.
I hope you’re having a wonderful day.
