Friday Feature: An Interview with So Joey

Friday Feature is a series where I feature people who inspire me, or products that I find interesting. Today, we have Joey telling us a little bit about herself. I came across Joey’s blog when I was looking for planner sleeves and she makes some lovely ones.

Tell us a bit about yourself, what do you like to do when you’re not planning?

I’m Joey, I’m 25 and I live in the part of Kent that is just outside London. I have more hobbies that I have time for. My friend once said I’m a Renaissance Soul which is someone who always craves to try new things. At the moment though, I’m either sewing my planner covers, watching movies or adding things to online shopping baskets!

What is your favourite planner and why?

My favourite planner used to be the Aqua Saffiano because the colour and feel is gorgeous and it doesn’t scratch or dent easily. It was also the first one I bought for myself and I’d been lusting over it for a while. Now that I have a Compact Patent Duck Egg, an A5 Domino Patent and a Large Mint Kikki.K, I’m really not sure. I think I’ll always have a soft spot for my Saffiano though!

What is your favourite planner accessory or stationery?

It’s constantly changing, one moment I’ll be obsessed with stickers, the next there’ll be sticky notes everywhere. Washi tape remains a constant favourite because it’s so versatile. It’s excellent for in case plans change and brightens up your pages so easily. I also love my dashboards. It’s so handy for glancing at things that you always need to have in your planner.

What inspired you to start a blog?

I’ve had so many blogs ever since even before it was cool to have one. I think prior to this, my most successful one was my tumblr and I just liked being able to share things I was doing, to talk about stuff and it was all going to be there for other people to look at. I got really involved with my tumblr, at the time it was good because I loved the anonymity of it. I could complain about a bad day or share really good times and it would be fine because no one knew who I was, so there was no judging. I’ve also met so many amazing people on the way I love that it’s nice to be able to share things that other people enjoy too. I can’t see myself not having a blog, even though there are times when I neglect it. We’re all just very busy aren’t we!

What do you enjoy most about blogging?

I like that there are people out there who want to hear what I have to say about things. In my circle there aren’t many people who understand the planner obsession so it’s nice that my blog is a place I can go on about planners and there are people reading it. I also love photography but don’t really get the opportunity to take photos that much any more. My blog lets me do that, even if it is just photos of my planner, at least I’m using my camera!

Where would you like to go on a holiday?

All my family live in South Africa and I miss them terribly so at the moment that’s where I’d like to be the most. I also want to visit Morrocco, India, Ireland, Malaysia and Indonesia! I would gladly go to any of these places in a heartbeat!

What are your favourite stores (online or brick & mortar) to shop in?

I spend far too much time on Etsy and eBay at the moment. My fave stores from there are:
Joe & Flo (for Washi Tape)
LemonCat Shop (for stickers and things)
Organise with Katie (for inserts)

My favourite real shops are TKMaxx, Paperchase, Tiger and Hema. All excellent places for stationery and pretty things!

If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be?

Indecisive! Because I can’t decide on a word!

And lastly, please leave a link to your blog/YouTube and social media so we can connect with you:

I don’t have a YouTube yet but it’s possibly in the works for next year!  I’ll let people know on my blog.

Thanks for stopping by and participating in this lil’ interview, Joey! Remember to look me up if you do decide to visit Malaysia 🙂

Note to readers: If you have a planner, home and living, crafting or cooking blog and would like to take part in the Friday Feature, please write to me at (seriously, don’t be shy!).

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

It seems like a lot of us aren’t in circles in real life of people that enjoy planners and paper as much as we do! Which makes no sense, as planners really are a fantastic thing, and they’re obviously very popular, so why is it so hard to find people nearby who like them?! xD

I do have a friend who’s really into planners and she uses a Midori. I turned my younger sister into a planner nerd too and gave her one for Christmas along with several cute stationery. I have a few other friends who use planners but not to the extent that I do. So I don’t think I’m entirely alone.
